FAQs on virtual physical therapy and Coronavirus

FAQs about virtual physical therapy and coronavirus

At SOL Physical Therapy, our team is committed to providing high-quality care to our patients, and this commitment has not wavered in the face of the recent coronavirus outbreak. In fact, we’re taking steps to see patients via virtual physical therapy appointments in addition to in-clinic appointments. Here are some answers to FAQs about how we’re dealing with coronavirus and our virtual physical therapy options:

What steps is SOL Physical Therapy taking to deal with coronavirus?

There have been no cases of coronavirus in our clinic, and our team is working diligently to keep it that way. We’ve moved to an open-as-needed schedule to reduce exposure risk. Our team is also disinfecting our therapy spaces after every patient. We are also offering virtual physical therapy appointments so that there’s no break in your therapy process.

How can I schedule an in-person appointment at this time?

We are still offering in-person therapy appointments on an as-needed basis. You can call us at (510) 547-1630 to schedule an appointment. You can also reach out to us online at info@3.144.6.147, and our team will get back to you as soon as possible.

Will I be able to work with my regular therapist?

Our clinics are currently operating with a different staffing plan than normal, and this means that you might be scheduled with a different therapist than normal. However, every member of our team is dedicated to doing everything possible to help you.

What should I do if I need to cancel my appointment?

We understand that our patients’ health and safety are more important now than ever. If you are ill or just want to cancel a scheduled therapy appointment, just give us a call at (510) 547-1630. We may also be able to reschedule your appointment as a virtual physical therapy session in some cases.

What is virtual physical therapy?

Virtual physical therapy is also called remote physical therapy or telemedicine physical therapy, and this type of therapy allows you to have a therapy session right from your own home through the internet. SOL Physical Therapy will be using a secure web-based platform. Give us a call at (510) 547-1630 to learn more about this therapy option or to schedule a virtual physical therapy session.

How much will virtual physical therapy sessions cost?

Virtual physical therapy care is covered by most major insurances in the same way as an in-person visit. Our team also accepts credit and debit as well as Flexible Spending Account (FSA) and Health Savings Account (HSA) payments for Medicare, Medicaid and self-pay patients.

What equipment do I need for a SOL virtual physical therapy session?

The platform that SOL Physical Therapy is using for virtual physical therapy is a secure web-based service. This means you won’t have to download a special app for your session. You will need to make sure you have:

  • A laptop, desktop computer or smartphone that has a webcam and internet access
  • An updated internet browser
  • Loose, comfortable clothes
  • A cleared area to perform therapy movements if necessary
